Background

Old Mutual Africa launched a Pan African campaign #Sisonke across four countries (Kenya, Malawi, South Africa and Zimbabwe.)

The #Sisonke campaign was about recognizing community heroes during the Covid 19 pandemic. People who were working to help out their communities.

Approach

  • This was a digital campaign with nominations to be made on social media platforms.
  • Initial announcements were made on Social Media, Online, Print, Online and Radio to reach a wide audience and direct them to the social media platforms.
  • A mix of media briefings, articles and radio to drive the audience to the Old Mutual Social Media pages
  • A media briefing was held in Malawi to generate awareness and excitement Opening of the digitally lead competition.
  • Press conferences of announcement of the competition and the winners at the end.
  • Media briefing were conducted to create hype and awareness around the competition.
